Pastel Drawing Workshop: Seahorses!

Gregory Maichack, instructing at the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Boston, colleges, to 100's of libraries, will present his all-new, "The Seahorse: How to Pastel Paint.”  Everyone will draw a seahorse OR use a template that Maichack provides to trace. We also create reflective bubbles. Instruction in expressive pastel strokes, blending, slurring, scumbling, and layering.

All participants will keep their 12 X 18 pastel painting. Photo references of many seahorses are supplied for ideas allowing unfathomable possibilities. Also, Maichack’s many pastel painted seahorses will unveil the process.

All will be entertained by lively anecdotes on the mystery of seahorses. All the essential techniques of pastel painting will be demonstrated as participants follow along. Mr. Maichack provides hundreds of professional grade pastels, pastel paper, and white charcoal and emerald-green pastel pencils.
