December: Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney
December brings Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk by Kathleen Rooney, a charming and reflective novel that takes readers on a journey through New York City and into the heart of its unforgettable protagonist. Lillian Boxfish, a 85-year-old former advertising icon, embarks on a solo walk through Manhattan on New Year’s Eve, reflecting on her life, loves, and the changing city around her. With wit, grace, and a sharp eye for detail, Rooney crafts a story of resilience, nostalgia, and the wisdom that comes with age. Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk is a heartfelt exploration of memory, identity, and the unexpected beauty of life’s later years, making it the perfect book to end the year with.
